2027 Hyundai Tucson: Korea Gets It First, the US in 2027

The all-new Hyundai Tucson is already on sale in Korea. Hyundai Korea opened orders on October 21, 2026. In the US, the same car is coming as the 2027 Tucson, and Hyundai says North America gets it in 2027.

So for now, the two countries are selling different generations under the same name. This guide covers what Korea gets today, what Hyundai has announced for the US version, and what’s on US lots in the meantime.

    How we checked

Korean prices and powertrains come from Hyundai Korea’s price lists for the gas and hybrid Tucson, dated October 21, 2026. Specs for both markets come from Hyundai’s global launch release of October 1, 2026, posted on Hyundai’s US media site. The current US lineup and prices come from Hyundai USA’s 2026 Tucson page.

We didn’t use dealer sites, reviews or forums. Where a figure is our own conversion, we say so.

    The short answer

    • Korea: the new Tucson (디 올 뉴 투싼) is on sale now, with a 1.6 turbo gas engine or a 1.6 turbo hybrid.
    • US: Hyundai calls it the 2027 Tucson and says it arrives in 2027. US prices and trims haven’t been announced.
    • On US lots now: the 2026 Tucson, the model the all-new 2027 replaces.
    • Power: Hyundai lists separate outputs for Korea and the US. The top Korean figures are a little higher, and it gives no reason.
    • Price in Korea: from ₩31,400,000 for the gas version and ₩36,150,000 for the hybrid after a tax benefit.
    • XRT PRO: Hyundai lists this off-road version as North America-only. Korea’s lineup has the XRT.

    Same name, different generations

On Hyundai Korea’s site, the car is now “디 올 뉴 투싼” (The all-new Tucson). In Hyundai’s Korean naming, “The all-new” usually marks a new generation. Our Korean and international model name lookup table explains these prefixes.

Hyundai’s October 1 launch release said the new Tucson would launch in Korea later this year, with North America, Europe and other markets following in 2027. Korean orders opened three weeks later. Hyundai Motor America calls the US version the all-new 2027 Tucson. It says more details on availability and specifications will come closer to launch.

Until then, Hyundai USA’s Tucson page shows the 2026 Tucson. It’s the model the all-new 2027 replaces, with a 2.5 gas engine rated at 187 hp, or a 1.6 turbo hybrid with 231 hp combined. So a Tucson bought new in the US today is not the car Korean buyers are ordering.

New Tucson: Korea vs US power

Hyundai Korea’s price lists show a 1.6 turbo gas engine with an 8-speed automatic, and a 1.6 turbo hybrid with a 6-speed automatic. Hyundai’s global release gives its spec figures separately for Korea and the US.

    PowertrainKorea (Hyundai’s figure)US (Hyundai’s figure)
    Gas150 to 193 PS (148 to 190 hp)184 hp
    Hybrid236 to 245 PS (233 to 242 hp)233 hp

Hyundai’s release gives Korean outputs in PS. The hp figures in brackets are our conversions. For gas, the release lists a 2.0 engine for some markets as well as the 1.6 turbo, and it doesn’t say which Korean figure belongs to which engine.

Either way, the top Korean figures come out a few horsepower above the US ones. Hyundai doesn’t explain the gap, so we won’t guess at it.

Hyundai rates the plug-in hybrid at 292 PS and an estimated 81 km (50 miles) of electric range, but says it’s for select markets. Its spec table gives no US figure for it.

Fuel economy: Korean figures and US targets

Hyundai’s release lists Korean fuel economy of 12.2 km/L for the gas Tucson and 17.4 km/L for the hybrid. That’s about 28.7 and 40.9 US mpg (our conversion).

For the US, Hyundai says the hybrid is targeting up to 42 mpg. A footnote calls that a targeted figure for the two-wheel-drive (2WD) hybrid on 17-inch wheels. Its spec table also lists 28 mpg for the 2WD gas version.

The US car isn’t on sale yet, and Hyundai calls the hybrid figure a target. Korean and US tests also differ, so don’t read the two sets as a direct match.

What the new Tucson costs in Korea

Hyundai Korea sells four trims with either powertrain. These are the starting prices on its price lists dated October 21, 2026.

Trim1.6 turbo gas1.6 turbo hybrid (before tax benefit)1.6 turbo hybrid (after tax benefit)
    H-Pick (에이치-픽)₩31,400,000₩37,150,000₩36,150,000
    Exclusive (익스클루시브)₩35,300,000₩40,900,000₩39,900,000
    XRT₩36,800,000₩42,650,000₩41,650,000
    Inspiration (인스퍼레이션)₩37,900,000₩43,700,000₩42,700,000

The hybrid is listed at two prices, before and after a tax benefit (세제혜택 전/후). We didn’t find an end date for the benefit on the price list, so check the current list before you budget.

The gas price list also shows HTRAC (Hyundai’s all-wheel drive) with a terrain mode and a ground view camera as a ₩2,400,000 option.

There are no US prices for the new Tucson yet. For reference, Hyundai USA lists the current 2026 Tucson from a $29,700 starting MSRP, the 2026 Tucson Hybrid from $31,300, and the 2026 Tucson Plug-in Hybrid from $40,675. We haven’t converted between won and dollars, since exchange rates move and the two prices include different taxes.

XRT and the North America-only XRT PRO

Korea’s lineup includes the XRT, which Hyundai describes as a more rugged-looking trim with its own cladding, bumpers and skid-plate styling.

The XRT PRO goes further. Hyundai lists all-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, front recovery hooks and 210 mm (8.3 in) of ground clearance, 30 mm more than the standard car. A footnote marks the XRT PRO as North America-only, and Smart Terrain Assist, a Hyundai first, is listed for the XRT PRO only.

Hyundai also lists the hybrid at up to 3,000 lb of towing with four-wheel drive in North America. The release doesn’t give a Korean towing figure, so we haven’t compared them.

    Searching for one in Korea

On Korean sites, search 투싼 (Tucson). The new car is listed as 디 올 뉴 투싼, and the hybrid as 디 올 뉴 투싼 Hybrid. Older Tucsons will also show up under 투싼, so look for 디 올 뉴 in the listing name.
